About Our Foundation

The Rotary Club of El Paso Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is a Texas non-profit corporation, which is a separate legal entity governed by a Board of Trustees (Board).  The Board is composed of the Rotary Club of El Paso (Club) Immediate Past President, Club President, Club President-Elect and eight additional Club members. The Foundation provides a formal structure for giving and a focus for our outreach efforts.  Funds generated by the Foundation include:

Operating Funds, income derived from Foundation investments, unrestricted donations/memorials and Club fundraising activities which are utilized to support Foundation operational expenses, charitable giving and community/regional Rotary programs.
Restricted Funds, contributions that are specifically designated by the donor to support a specific charity, project or program through utilization of the Foundation's structure to coordinate the collection and disbursement of the charitable funds.
Rotary Projects LLC, a separate legal entity to manage tax-deductible contributions for specifically designated major Rotary projects.

Mission

The Rotary Club of El Paso Foundation (Foundation ) was established as a 501 c(3) tax exempt corporation to work diligently in enhancing the coordination, provision and solicitation of volunteers, support and/or financial resources for the purpose of improving education, health and quality of life in El Paso and surrounding communities.

Goals

Seek out relevant Rotary sponsored programs/projects that actively involve Rotarians in the administration, direction, financial support, management and/or volunteer participation.  Ensure the relevancy, successful implementation, sustainability and viability of programs/projects utilizing best practices concerning effective, efficient, ethical and judicious use of funds, resources and personnel in the spirit of Rotary's:

Motto - Service Above Self
and
The Four-Way Test - Of the things we think, say or do
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

How Rotarians benefit by contributing to the Foundation:
Joining with Rotarians and other individuals in supporting the Foundation's charitable giving and grants results in a greater impact than might otherwise be possible.  Foundation gifts and grants focus public attention on community/regional concerns and concentrates the Club's attention on mobilizing available resources to effectively generate common solutions.  Tax deductibility of gifts helps generate more resources than otherwise might be possible.  The Foundation is managed by a volunteer group of Rotarians, thus minimizing fundraising and administrative expenses.
