Purpose
 
The Rotary Club of El Paso Foundation (the "Foundation") established The Rotary Club of El Paso Foundation Scholarship in Memory of James and Florence Quinn.
 
The Quinn Scholarship is available to qualified students for attendance at universities and colleges, including community colleges, which offer bachelor degrees and associate degrees 
 
Eligibility
 
Any individual who is a high school senior residing in El Paso County, Texas, and attending a comprehensive high school within the El Paso Independent School District may apply for a Quinn Scholarship. 
 
Applicants must:
  • Have been accepted for enrollment by an accredited college or university.
  • Must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours the first semester.
  • Must currently be in the top 15% of the senior class at the campus where enrolled.
 
 
Dorothy Quinn, upon passing, set up an endowment to honor her parents James and Florence Quinn to the El Paso Rotary Foundation to establish an on-going scholarship fund that is still alive today and awarding $5,000 scholarship to high school seniors based upon academic performance..
How to Apply
 
Applications from high school seniors can only be made through the high school counselor.
 
Selection Process
 
The Foundation will select the recipients of the Quinn Scholarships after evaluating the following factors for each applicant: 
(1) participation in school and community activities,
(2) work experience (including any work done at home), (3) statement of goals and ambitions,
(4) prior academic record,
(5) quality of the essay,
(6) high school appraisal. 
 
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
 
All determinations by the Foundation will be final and will not be subject to review or appeal.
